Bay County Pony League

News Detail

Sep, 2019

It is with personal sadness and a huge lose to all of us in the Bay County Pony League that we say goodbye to Coach Dan Revette. His passing in the late hours of Wednesday night, September 4th has impacted us all in the League.

The loss will be felt by anybody who knew Dan. He loved the game of baseball. He believe in our PONY name which stands for PROTECT OUR NATIONS YOUTH. He was a friend to all of the Players, the Parents, other Managers and Coaches and all of us who serve, and served on the BCPL Executive Board. To ALL of us we have lost a great friend.

I was honored to see Dan Revette take our BCPL Players to the World Series in 1998. It was my first season as League President and our second All-Star Team to make the World Series since 1983. After that he had a run of 10-teams in the World Series in an 11-year run from 2009-2019. He was there always ready, and willing, to push his teams when they needed it, to make them better and to believe in themselves.

He would always tell me that everybody is calling me, asking me about this and that, what do I tell them? Tell them he did, for the past 30-years. He was the face of BCPL Baseball that everybody knew.

To all of us in The Bay County Pony League he will be missed.
